Three albums in 23 years, one per decade, were enough for the Irish Damien Rice to become one of the most singular talents of the world music scene. He went from playing in the streets to capitalizing on the billboards of major festivals all over Europe, with his guitar and voice as his main allies. O (2002), 9 (2006) and My Favourite Faded Fantasy (2014), three huge albums (nominated for Brit and Short List Prize, competing with Beck, Bob Dylan or Justin Timberlake) in which the Dubliner offered a reformulation of folk pop through multiple textures, with an imaginative treatment and an absolutely touching flow of emotionality.
