Five million records in forty years of career. That's a lot to say. And the numbers speak for themselves. But Luz Casal has come a long way since 1982 until now. From those rock makings she showed when she opened for Miguel Ríos or Leño to her later mastery of Latin pop, rancheras, boleros, Spanish songs or ballads, which made her a star not only in Spain but also in countries like France. Tarquim, the project led by Pau Vidal, who will precede her on stage, also knows a lot about boleros and Latin and Mediterranean sounds.
The Galician singer and composer arrives at Noches del Botánico in a particularly sweet moment. After collecting last year's Ondas award in its 69th edition, celebrating the good reception of her live performance Solo esta noche (2022), a recording of the concert she gave in the Obradoiro square together with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia on July 27, 2021, and with a brand new album under her arm: Hola, qué tal (2023), the most personal and autobiographical of his entire career (and that is already his seventeenth), inspired by the need for human contact with our loved ones that we experience during the hardest days of the pandemic.
The saxophonist, flautist, composer and producer Pau Vidales is the alma mater of Tarquim, a project in open dialogue between past and present, but also between both sides of the ocean. Because if in their first album, Mar Endins (2026), they reinterpreted popular and traditional Valencian music passing it through the filter of jazz, in their second work, A Cuba ( 2020), they made descarga, danzón, chachachá, guaguancó, columbia and bolero their objects of desire. Vidal, a professor at the Taller de Músics and member of The Gramophone All Stars Big Band, has in his band several Latin Grammy nominated virtuosos.
At Noches del Botánico we believe that there is no age to enjoy culture, that is why all minors can access the venue regardless of their age. They must access with their corresponding ticket and accompanied by their father, mother or legal guardian.
If the age of the minor is less than 16 years old, he/she must always be accompanied by his/her father, mother or legal guardian.
