The Morente saga has always disdained conventions, combining tradition and challenge. And that is precisely what can be expected from this double bill, in which Estrella and Soleá Morente, each with her own particular style and background, take on tradition but also glimpse new horizons for the genre.
Underlining at this point the almost legendary status of Estrella Morente may be as redundant as taking a look at her discography or reviewing the string of awards she has been granted for her career, whether the Ondas, the Amigo or the Micrófono de Oro. She is the most important artist of an already dazzling saga, such as the Morente family. In fact, she was already part of the emblematic "Omega (1996), which her father Enrique plotted together with Lagartija Nick, and she has always claimed to be part of the same creative lineage as La Niña de los Peines, Camarón or Marchena.
Soleá Morente's progression, since her solo debut (not to mention since she was still a child when she participated live in those flamenco masses with her father to the rhythm of the acclaimed "Omega", from 1996), has been meteoric. If she surprised with the lively rumba pop and electronic pop of "Lo que te falta" (2020), she dazzled a year later with "Aurora y Enrique" (2021) that paid tribute to the memory of her parents invoking La Bien Querida, Beach House, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro or Cocteau Twins. "Gitana María" (2023), one of their latest singles, was acclaimed by the specialized press as one of the best songs of the year. Their live shows are also a torrent of duende, intuition, unconditional delivery and intelligence.
