A night of festive and contagious rumba by two institutions of the genre, two veteran groups of universal projection, the French Gypsy Kings, fronted by Nicolás Reyes, and the Catalans Los Manolos.
Peret patented it, and Los Manolos perfected it: it is the Catalan rumba, a genre for which this group will always be known worldwide. It became popular after their participation in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, precisely together with Peret and Los Amaya, to the rhythm of "Amigos para siempre". Their rumba is, of course, festive and uninhibited, and they have played with the Beatles, Sinatra or Kaka de Luxe.
Nicolás Reyes and his Gypsy Kings popularized internationally the fusion of flamenco, rumba and pop like no one else. The millions of listens to "Bamboleo", "Djobi, Djoba", "A mi manera", "Hotel California" or "Volare" and their more than twenty albums released since 1982 are proof of the power of this group born in the south of France more than four decades ago, ambassadors of a sound that has had more stylized creators, but hardly more popular.
