They are young, precocious talents who stood out in the world of flamenco when they were just kids, and both claim the purity of the impure, surrounding themselves with guitarists and producers of race that do not put limits to their music. Ángeles Toledano and Israel Fernández are two of the essential names in flamenco today.
Israel Fernández is a young flamenco singer, composer and musician born in Corral de Almaguer (Toledo), born in 1989, who has collaborated with El Guincho, Diego Amador, Sara Baras, Najwa Nimri or Pablo Alborán, and who has published a handful of albums among which stand out "Amor" (2020), placed among the best flamenco works of that year for media such as Rockdelux, Mondosonoro or El País, Odeon award and nominated to the Latin Grammy in the category of best flamenco music album, and the also acclaimed "Pura sangre" (2023), again with the production of Diego del Morao and with the contribution of the electronic producer Pional. He won his first contest when he was only 11 years old, but he has long since ceased to be one of the promises of the new generation of flamenco español to become a firm reality.
The singer Ángeles Toledano is not even thirty years old, but she has a curriculum at the height of the consolidated talents. She has a projection in the genre that places flamenco in the present, and is backed by her sensitivity, experience and recognition. She is currently working on the recording of her first album, along with guitarist Benito Bernal, who also accompanies her in this concert. Many have known her, outside the strictly flamenco field, for her participation in "Tengo tres estrellas y veinte cruces" (2023), the sensational album of the project Ángeles, Víctor, Gloria y Javier, acclaimed by critics as one of the best of last year. But the artist has been touring for years, after winning nearly a dozen awards as a teenager, halfway around the world, as part of the cast of top flamenco artists.
