Latin American pop and rock of the last decades would not be understood without the Argentinians Miranda! and the Uruguayans No Te Va a Gustar. The former with synthesizers, the latter with guitars, both embody two incomparable factories of hits that have triumphed far beyond their borders.
The duo formed by Argentineans Alejandro Sergi and Juliana Gattas has made bubbly and catchy electronic pop its hallmark. They have transcended fashions and have endured in the collective imaginary of Latin American pop thanks to their unappealable songs. Fun, uncomplicated, with a sparkling melodic and lyrical insight. More than two decades of career endorse their trajectory, recognized with awards such as MTV Latin America, MTV Europe Music Awards, Carlos Gardel, 40 Principales and Konex Awards. Their latest and ninth album, "Hotel Miranda!" (2023), critically acclaimed as one of the best Argentine albums of last year, features re-recorded songs in collaboration with artists such as Ca7riel, Lali, Emilia or María Becerra, who have grown up admiring them.
The Uruguayans No te va a gustar are celebrating thirty years of career. Three decades combining pop, reggae, candombe, ska, murga, salsa and the influence of Argentine rock, in a career that has seen them tour half the world (Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England or Spain) and share stages with La Zurda, Bersuit Vergarabat, Los Ratones Paranoicos, Las Pelotas, Los Piojos, Spinetta or León Giecco. With the self-confidence, the audacity and the skill of someone who started in music at the age of 16, the octet formed by Emiliano Brancciari, Guzmán Silveira, Diego Bartaburu, Martín Gil, Denis Ramos, Mauricio Ortiz, Pablo Coniberti and Francisco Nasser arrives to Noches del Botánico with the anniversary in mind and without forgetting the songs from their eleventh and last album to date, "Luz" (2011).
