July 29th was a night of farewells and celebration. We said goodbye to the third edition of Noches del Botánico and celebrated that we finally had Norah Jones on stage, the most anticipated concert of the whole cycle, given how quickly the tickets were sold out. This happened in March, a few days after tickets went on sale, and since then this performance hung the 'sold out' sign.
So, in front of an expectant and devoted audience, the New Yorker gave a recital which, although it was short in relation to the desire we had to enjoy it, sounded magical and perfect. Pleasant and emotional. With a formidable technique in both voice and piano. And, of course, also in the musicians who accompanied her: Brian Blade (drums), Chris Thomas (bass) and Pete Remm (organ).
They played 'My heart is full', 'Nightingale', 'Street strangers', 'Sunrise' or 'I don't know why' and caressed the audience with their softness. An exceptional end to Noches del Botánico 2018.
