Noches del Botánico

Noches del Botánico experienced in this 2021, one of the most iconic and special editions of its history. Around 80,000 attendees were able to enjoy an eclectic and differential musical proposal in the 44 concerts scheduled for its fifth anniversary. The return of live music to Jardín Botánico of the Complutense University of Madrid has resulted in an unprecedented success.

And the fact is that Madrid's leading summer concert series has been nominated in five categories at the Iberian Festival Awards. With the return of live music also comes the return of the renowned gala, held in Lisbon, where the most outstanding festivals of the year in the Iberian Peninsula are awarded.

The five awards for which Noches del Botánico is eligible:

  • Best Festival: Names such as Woodkid, Love of Lesbian, Rufus Wainwright or the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis guaranteed the experience of living music in nature during the afternoons of June and July.

  • Best Communication and Marketing Strategy: The increase of followers on social networks and the considerable presence in the media denote the frenetic activity of the festival in terms of communication.

  • Best Safe Festival in the face of COVID-19: The reduction of the seating capacity to 1,800 people and the constant monitoring of the working team through the novel PCR tests integrated in the COVID-LOT Project (a technique developed at the Faculty of Biology of the Complutense University), ensured that the festival will be held in a safe environment.

  • Best contribution to sustainability: The reuse of wastewater as an irrigation system, the extension of water supply connections, the use of sustainable and reusable furniture, edition after edition, together with the extension of green electrical connections with the aim of eliminating diesel generators, make Noches del Botánico a space committed to the environment.

  • Best Festival in Reception and Access: The care and personalised attention, both for the public and the artists, make the experience of the concert series unique for everyone.
