Brazil and Andalusia. Andalusia and Brazil. The alliance formed by Toquinho and Yamandú Costa, with the voice of Camilla Faustino, and the collective project G-5, created by Kiko Veneno, El Canijo de Jerez, Diego el Ratón, Muchachito and Tomasito, offer a double collective celebration of music.
The G-5 is what has always been called a super group. Or better said, in their own terminology, a ghost group, formed in 2006 by Kiko Veneno, El Canijo de Jerez, (Diego Ratón of Los Delinqüentes), Muchachito and Tomasito. A project touched by the halo of exceptionality, because they only recorded one album, "Tucaratupapi" (2006), which is currently out of print and can not even be heard on any digital platform. The G-5 always went against the current, marking their times and their ways. All the more reason, in case it were necessary, to fervently recommend a live show whose special symbiosis can only be explained live, from the stage.
The alliance between the two Brazilian musicians deservedly won the Latin Grammy for best instrumental album with the live album "Bachianinha-Live at Rio Montreux Jazz Festival" (2021). It was the live embodiment of the masterful union of two inescapable references of Latin American and world music: on the one hand, Toquinho, generational companion of Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque, guitarist and composer of classics such as "Aquarela" or "A tonga da mironga do Kabulete"; on the other, Yamandú Costa, long-time guitarist who with his seven-stringed instrument has tackled styles such as bossa nova, tango, samba, milonga or chamamé. They arrive with the guest voice of Camilla Faustino.
