Steve Van Zandt, aka Little Steven, is iconic like few others. A scarf, an overcoat... and a wild sound that makes even the most prudish dance.

In his concert last July 11 at Noches del Botánico he certainly did it, both old and young. Because the career of this old school rocker may have started in the 70s - at the tender age of 20 - but over the years he has managed to stay in the limelight and gain followers in the new generations.

And he has achieved this both with his 'Boss', the great Bruce Springsteen, with whom he has shared the road for several decades in the E Street Band, and with his own project and even with a leading role as a mobster in the acclaimed series The Sopranos.

There was no room for rest. On stage, Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul hit with an instrumental display that turned each of the songs into a thunderous party. A combo of horns, powerful percussion, brutal vocals on backing vocals... More than a dozen musicians on stage gave life to his rock and roll classics, covers, and also songs from 'Soulfire', the latest album by the composer, singer and guitarist. There was even an exceptional surprise guest, the Finnish Michael Monroe - vocalist of Hanoi Rocks - who took the stage to sing 'Dead, Jail or Rock 'n' Roll' with his friend and electrify the whole audience with his extra energy.

Times may have changed, but the know-how of this rock master remains. Long live Little Steven!
